This was a strange weekend
my wife loves watching the games
due to my issues i had to go away from the tv
and in the other room
sunday my buddy came other we watched baseball
than put the games on
beach volleyball

i made it thru it
also started to open open to him that it was dealing with some issues
but wasn't ready to open up about my p problem
I guess i should feel good that it didn't open the flood gates
but i also known that each of us here have different levels of control
just putting this out
stay strong

Appreciate your honesty Brokensoul. As a PA it really doesnt matter what you see on TV, if there is too much flesh on show, or suggestive and provocative movements, it can trigger temptation in the mind of a PA. I personally have been fine with games and have watched alot, but I know many of my colleagues have had casual banter about the beach volleyball, So I made a concious decision that I would not watch that sport.

But by you walking away from the TV or simply changing the channel is excellent, I had to do this alot in my early days. Sometimes i feel push he boundaries a little too much if something catches my attention now, but As Dominus has mentioned in his journal, i beleive through reeducating yourself the control you gain starts to become a new habit within itself.

Keep on Keeping on!

Brokensoul,

I'm in the same camp as you. With the TV I will turn my head, shield my eyes, simply walk away and not watch, or whatever else it takes to prevent unwanted pollution.

I do this with or without Mrs. Daniel present. I'm just being real careful with boundaries and triggers, trying not to throw good thought habits off the rails with an image gone wrong.

As for opening up to friends about PA, that is a real tough one.

I have chosen to be very very selective as to who I tell. Now it turns out I have told just about everyone who is close to me. But those I told I knew very well and knew they could "take it." Some I knew had similar issues. Others I didn't know if they did or not but they shared my faith and I made an educated guess that they could respond with compassion and maturity.

Ultimately I say if you have peace and feel led, then tell them.

Daniel
