Having problems since the last upgrade

I'm not sure if it's related to the recent changes or just a glitch for me. When I try to reply to a thread and click on go advanced, I can see the smilies in the sidebar begin to load, but then they disappear completely. When I start to type my reply in the box, it formats as I intend. But as soon as I click preview, it condenses all of my type instead of maintaining paragraphs.For the record, I'm starting a new paragraph now. I want to see if it maintains it or not, or I'm the only one who sees it incorrectly on my screen. I have double checked my settings and I have it set to full WYSIWYG. I've also tried setting it to shiney blue (what I typically use) and the other 2 options. I get the same result in all 3. New paragraph. I'm using Safari on an iPad, in case the problem is specific to iPad or my version of Safari. I can read everything fine, as well as "thank" and "like" posts. It appears to be just a formatting/smilies issue for me. Thank you for any help offered!

ETA: I typed this as 3 paragraphs and I am seeing one condensed mess. It happens in attempts to reply to an existing thread or in starting a new one. Thank you!

ETA: Weird...it's maintaining space when I edit to add something, but will not maintain paragraphs when trying to post, no matter how many times I try to go back and respace it.

Thank you for detailed explanation Hibiscus. However will still need a little more information.

Generally when we roll out a new upgrade we test against the latest versions of Firefox, IE, Chrome and Opera. Sadly we have not begun testing compatability with Safari as yet.

So my first question to you would be, have you tried replicating this issue in a different browser?

I would also require you to try replicating it on a actual desktop PC/Mac as opposed to a tablet or netbook, just so through process of elimination we can work out what is at fault.

Please do come back and let me know your findings.

Hi Admin2,Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately, we just had horrible storms blow through here tonight (with more on the way) and lost our power. It's really widespread, so not sure how long it will be off. I'm on a cellular plan now and trying to conserve my battery. I'll check back in with the additional info you need when we're back up and running. Thanks again!

Testing...page break Power is back on, so thought I would quickly check using the iPad with another browser. This one is most updated version of Firefox Mercury. page break Smilies did the same thing...briefly showed up and then vanished. page break I'll test things on my desktop later today. Thank you!

Testing on my desktop computer in Firefox.

Typing a new paragraph here...blah, blah, blah, lol.

Typing a second paragraph here. After I'm done on the desktop, I will attempt to send you a screen shot from my iPad that shows what I am seeing after I type a post and submit it. I've never done a screen shot on the iPad, so I hope I figure it out.

Alrighty, I assume this will work just fine on my desktop - let's see...

Hi Hibiscus, thanks for sending your screenshots over, Vbulletin have confirmed there is an issue with the new text editor and the ipad both 1 and 2.

They have a got a fix out, but its temperamental. So based on low usage of ipad users on TTF, I am reluctant to just install it straight away. If you can manage with just your desktop for possibly another month, until Vbulletin can test their fix 100%, then I will be happy to install on here.

Hope you understand, and apologies I did not pick up on this error sooner.

Admin2, I completely understand and no apologies are necessary. I'm glad there's a fix in the not so distant future. I wouldn't expect anyone to install a buggy fix, so I can certainly wait until they work the kinks out. Thank you for figuring it all out. Have a great weekend!
