Hey A2,

I was wondering if anyone has yet reported a problem with the new chat bar at the bottom.. I am using Firefox 4 and running Windows 7. My problem is I cannot access realtime messages received from friends, although the sender's name will pop up next to "Who's Online," and everything else seems to be working ok so far.

Also, this works fine on Firefox 4 when I am running Vista.

Any insight would be great, I hope I dont have to switch browsers but that might be the case...

I too am running FF4 on windows 7, but cannot replicate the problem your are experiencing.
That said I have only tested the general functionality, but I know Jenmac and Hopefuls Rock use the chat a lot more, so I will ask them to see if they can assist you further.

Hi Rockin,
I am pretty sure I am not the person who should be answering this as I am kinda illiterate when it comes to computer operating systems. I know I haven't had the problems you are experiencing although I was unable to use the invite feature for some reason the other night. Other than that, mine has been working fine. Rock however has been having some problems with using the realtime messages so perhaps you could ask him what system he is using.

Hi, A2. I'm having problems, too. I'm using Safari 5.0.5, and when I click on "Chatrooms," I see the message that reads "Please select a public/private chatroom you would like to join," but there are no chatrooms listed.

Well Rockin, I have the same problem and Hopeful has firefox 4.01 and windows 7 and she has no problems so I think I'll upgrade firefox... we'll see?

Update: Just a bit more information on the problem: I was able to initiate a conversation, but still unable to respond to conversation started by someone else. I gotta say it is a cool feature!

Well #1, I am travelling with my older laptop since it is a bit more rugged, but it is running vista instead of 7 so I will let you know what happens when I try it, probably wont be till Tuesday though. Are you saying 4.0.1 didn't work for yours?

There is no default Chatroom - unless someone has created one, afterwhich it times out. I.e. its a temporary room, not a permanent room.

So when you click on Chatrooms - click on the tab CREATE CHATROOM, and choose whether you want a public one, or invite only.

I will do my best to compose a help guide for it as soon as possible.

Ok to the chat crew! I have made a slight change in settings to inviting users, and it now seems ok to me. Please do let me know if this resolves the issue or not.
