My posts disappeared

[IN NEED OF HELP]

Yesterday,Sunday, I came on after the site was back up. I had replied to many journals, and in general discussion, I posted a new thread there. but now, they are all gone, like they disappeared, or never posted them at all. Is anyone else having this problem? I am just scratching my head on this one.

I was in the middle of reading something you had posted to me when it disappeared! I was like what the heck?

I looked and looked and couldnt find it, it was just gone.

Unfortunately you were posting at the same time TTF was being migrated to the new server per Admin's announcement.

The way I read the announcement: if you could post then your posts would either be saved or backed up. The site was read-only until ready for showtime.

Thus I can't explain why your posts dropped off. I would double-check their demise and PM Admin2 with your question.

Dear InNeedOfHelp,

I have checked the old site to see if there are any differences and can honestly not see any posts by you that are not on here (the new server). The only possible explanation, would be that you where posting on a cached version of the site, and therefore the posts would ultimatley not have been saved anywhere if happened to be in that very small window of setting the site to read only, and myself taking the backup.

I can only apologise if you have lost any data, as Im sure you will appreciate I have taken every effort to migrate as smoothly as possible, and the only 100% secure was would have been to shut the site down completely, but I felt that it would have been more helpful to members to have something online, rather than a "were closed" page.

Please accept my apologies.

Hey no problem. I guess I just brought this up, in case if there is a problem. Things like this happen, and there is nothing that we can do about it. You are doing an outstanding job here at TTF. Without all of your hard work, we would not have a wonderful place like this to come to.
