1) Age. You must be at least 18 years old to post to the message board.
2) Child Pornography is illegal, if you are involved or need help with this issue then your situation is beyond the scope of this board. Please get help immediately. Any discussion of such material or reference will be reported.
3) Attitude. This forum is meant to be a constructive place, where you can offer support and comfort to others and receive the same. Anyone with hateful or malicious intent will be warned and then banned. Please respect each other and the fact that what works for one person may not work for another.
4) Inappropriate sexual content. While this site openly discusses topics of pornography, members should not be posting detailed sexual information that may cause other members to be triggered. Absolutely no links to sites containing pornography or other related material will be tolerated, and will result in immediate banning from the site.
5) Steps of suspension / ban are as follows:
You will receive a formal warning, and then on the second warning, you will be banned from the site. The severity of the ban depends on your actions on the site. There are 3 levels:
1 month for minor infractions. (You are causing trouble but it's obvious you have redeeming qualities)
3 months for more serious offenses. (You are a constant annoyance to other members and offer little constructive advice)
Permanent ban for major offenses. (You stepped over the line and don't belong here, you were posting inappropriate material, links, images, or anything that may upset other members)

We have some updated rules for this month, and moving forward.
Regarding user avatars and profile pictures, we ask that you please adhere to some rules:
1) Please do not use a personal photo of yourself.
Partners and SO's may think nothing of using a snapshot of themselves, but may not realize that their photo could be suggestive or problematic for the PA's on this site. Please be understanding.
2) Please do not use any image that may be considered a trigger for other members.
This is a safe place, let's keep it that way. If you want to use a photo of someone else ( a celebrity, musician, sports star, etc.) please be very careful that it is not offensive or revealing in any way. Please be sensitive to the other members here!
3) In you user profile, please do not link to any page (ie. myspace, etc.) that may cause other users to click out of curiosity and cause them to be triggered.
Let's take an extra step here and be really safe for the sake of everyone here who is working hard.
Regarding registration:
1) Please do not use your first and last name as your username.
It's ok to use your first, or last, or an abbreviation or combination, but to avoid privacy issues please do not register with your first and last name. This is a simple step you can take to protect yourself, as your username is visible on every post you make.
2) Please do not use your email address for your username.
Could I ask why posting is not allowed for those under the age of 18?Is this a legal thing or just a rule that has been there since the start because if it can be changed I think it ought to be. Pornography affects most people while they are still underage and I think people struggling to overcome their addiction need support whether they are 15 or 50. Could you give me some more information on this? I hope this can be straightened out and the rule changed (or at least ignored) I'd be grateful to hear some other opinions on this (feel free to move this post to somewhere more appropriate if neccessary)
Best wishes,
Ben
"Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb." - Sir Winston Churchill
Ben, the 18 rule is something the TTF team will have to consider the implications of. Given that there are not age requirements for many porn sites these days it seems ironic that a site set up to help with porn addiction would have such a requirement.
However, there is some sensitive information discussed here and we don't want really young kids on the site, as sex and minors are two things that don't mix well legally (although they are probably exposed to porn by then as well, which is unfortunate.)
Thanks for the clarification, sorry for my infractions, maybe theres a way to direct new members straight to this page before we post?

In the next site upgrade we will have a more clear set of rules and guidelines for new members at sign up time, I agree this can be a bit confusing and most users don't read the rules post until after they have posted a few times...thanks for your input.
Please familiarize yourself with the new site rules if you have not done so already. Most users are already complying with the rules and for that we thank you
