Post Posting Etiquette - 02-18-2008, 08:55 AM
This forum is growing in membership daily, and naturally having an impact on daily post activity.

It is a fact that this site is fantastic due to the contributions from all of us. As new members join, or guests browse the forums, it would be great if we can try and not deviate from the initial thread within Recovery addicts forum and the Journals forum.

This makes easy and logical reading for new members to allow them to follow a members story.

There are some great topics going on that is stimulating great discussion with lots of differences of opinion. However, we need to remind ourselves, that this forum is successful because A) it does not cater for one religeon B) this community is one of great support for all members and guests alike.

Keep it real! keep it personal! I have received a number of private messages stating that the forum is starting to sway to quite philosophical discussions. While there is nothing wrong with that, we need to be structured and keep within the different forum sections, whereas currently it is spilling over into every section.

Im sure you will all agree this site has helped a lot of people, lets keep it that way, and make sure we can help many more.

Wishing you all the best in strength.

FoolishMind

Exclamation Ommision of URL's and certain triggers - 03-10-2008, 06:54 AM
Please can all members refrain from including URLS or names of websites that are related to P. This should also include actress names (where appropriate)

Reason: The above mentioned will generally be included in a post to explain your story or situation. However, this can be a trigger of temptations to a recovering PA. Please be sensitive and understand, someone who has come to the site at a weak moment to avoid going anywhere they shouldn't, and suddenly reads a post about a P site, or an actresses name, could tip the scales for them, to log off and find what you have mentioned.

If you need further clarification, please let me know.

Thanks
FoolishMind

Not going to have a lot of time to go through most posts over the next few days, If there is anything that you need to bring to my attention, please use the 'report post' option which is on the right hand side of every post, if you think it is in breach of any of the forum rules.

Will be back in full effect in the next few days.

Best of strength to all!
FM

Exclamation Scattering of posts - 06-10-2008, 09:15 AM
Dear All,

Not everyone wishes to create and maintain a journal. That is fine, but there are an increasing number of new threads being created, in which the member will already have many posts explaining their story. It would make far more sense, to continue on that existing thread if you are simply posting to give an update i.e. Relapse, Feeling good, Feeling bad etc.

Due to the increased number of daily posts, moderators will move any posts/threads that they feel would be more relevant / logical into an existing thread.

Please do not take offense if this is the case, as our primary objective is to make the forums a logical read, to assist both you, members, and guests to be able to read and follow stories in the most efficient manner.

Any posts that are moved, will have a 2 day expiring redirect, as moderators will not PM you to notify you of any moves.

If you feel you have lost a post / thread, please PM any of the TTF team or post in Forum Help, All mod actions are recorded so a Moderator will be more than happy to find the post you are looking for.

If anyone has any questions on this or any other area, please do not hesitate to ask.

Many Thanks

FoolishMind

Default Use of Capitals - 06-19-2008, 06:09 PM
It is certain unpublished knowledge and etiquette that posting in CAPITALS is considered rude and or aggressive as if one is shouting.

e.g.

What did you say?

compared with:

WHAT DID YOU SAY?

Please refrain from typing whole posts in capitals, by all means feel free to use fully capitalised words to strengthen the tone in CERTAIN parts of a post.

Many Thanks

On Behalf of the TTF Team
