Hi Dave, I am a SO of my H PA. I guess maybe SO's aren't able to access PA's journals....at least I couldn't seem to figure it out. I am new to this forum and we are in the beginning stages of recovery. It is ssssssoooooooo hopeful to me to hear that you have 2 years sobriety! Wow! That is awesome. I have enjoyed reading some of your other posts.
I would love to hear what you think are the best things that have happened to you since you quit? Also, would you mind sharing what actions kept you committed to your program even when it was hard?
Congratulations! You give me so much hope!
Life is going well. 2 years ago today I made the decision to try to make a change. P, MB and SX had been compulsive for decades and my wife confronted me.
I quit cold turkey but started to reach out for help. Confiding in one friend led me to SAA and also a great counsellor. I found this and a related site, and began to read and post regularily. Gradually a miracle grew in my life. I moved from 'quitting' to 'recovery' and have moved forward since then.
There have been tough times, but these resources and my renewed spiritual life have seen me overcome hurdles.
NO P and NO solo SX for the past 2 years. Very little fantasy and obsessing over acting out. A healthy mutual sx life with my wife and a growing comfort away from my old compulsions. TV, movies and real-life eye candy . . . . still rattle me from time to time, but my integrity and confidence have grown immensely.
I an blessed with a wonderful wife who has supported my throughout my journey. Our relationship has blossomed.
Thanks to all on this site who have encouraged me.
Take care all.
Dave

Congratulations Dave!
EDIT: You're an inspiration to me and I'm sure the same is true of the rest of the site. You're a shining example who shows that PA can be beaten, that lifes can be changed and that there is hope for everyone. Most PAs come to this site in darkness, they are scared, depressed and lost. It is people like you that show them that there is hope, that their problems can be overcome and that out of darkness can come light.
Thank you for being such a great example my friend. Awesome stuff! :D
Best wishes,
Ben

The world is in a constant conspiracy against the brave. It's the age-old struggle: the roar of the crowd on the one side, and the voice of your conscience on the other. - Douglas MacArthur
"'Thou mayest rule over sin,' Lee. That's it. I do not believe all men are destroyed. I can name you a dozen who were not, and they are the ones the world lives by. It is true of battles - only the winners are remembered. Surely most men are destroyed, but there are others who like pillars of fire guide frightened men through the darkness. 'Thou mayest!' What glory! It is true that we are weak and sick and quarrelsome, but if that is all we ever were we would, millenniums ago, have disappeared from the face of the earth. A few remnants of fossilised jawbone, some broken teeth in a strata of limestone, would be the only mark man would have left of his existance in the world. But the choice, Lee, the choice of winning!" - East of Eden by John Steinbeck

Congratulations Dave!
You are truly inspiring and I appreciate your willingness to continue to help us out at TTF. Sharing your experiences helps us realize that we can succeed and that we will!
Here's to spending the rest of our lives clean from P & MB! =D>
Congrats Dave :)
