I don't know if you've put together a plan of recovery or not. By "plan of recovery" I simply mean giving some thought to when you are most vulnerable to "triggers" and what you intend to do to avoid those triggers and deal with them if you can't avoid them. Reading the many resources offered on and off the web will help you understand things a bit better and the forums will give you methods that have helped many of us.
Generally, if you are saving/storing P somewhere I suggest you get rid of it, every single bit. Then, if there are certain situations where you are particularly susceptible to P viewing, avoid those situations or make P viewing as difficult as possible. If the computer is a problem, put it in a public place, put a filter/block on it or get some accountability software. In many cases, using some method to redirect your attention or focus (physical exercise, going for a walk, calling a friend, etc.) will get rid of the urge or image. If you have a trusted friend in whom you can confide, I suggest you do so. If you don't, then this forum may be the best alternative.
PA thrives on secrecy, isolation and deception. Anything you can do to lessen these conditions in your life will help you overcome this problem. Life is much better without porn. Good luck. |
