Not sure what you mean that we are not quitting anything here? Not sure about you but I'm trying to quit masturbating and viewing porn.

Yes it sounds final, and that's exactly why I would suggest this. For some to say never again or finished is really final and can sometimes be overwhelming. For me I feel it would be easier to take it one day at a time, at least for the first 50 or 100 days or so when you are comfortable looking at the concept of forever.

It also builds accountability by having your promise up there for all to see.
