A very good and inspiring post indeed. Many of the triggers for myself are boredom, and being alone. I agree that over time, your "hunger" becomes more insatiable, and soft-core is definitely a gateway to other things. I have been playing guitar for 8 years and I find that constructive hobbies are the best way to help you along. As mentioned earlier in the thread, irritability is a large side-effect, also being short with people. Instead of giving in, just leave the house - go drive around in the car, go for a bike ride, walk, exercise, etc. I find that most of the urges come when I am home alone, and have nothing to do. Simply just doing something won't control it, so usually I have to leave the house. But to help with the irritablity, I can quietly play guitar, or read. Anything helps.
