| Have you written a long post, only to loose it when you hit submit? -

Some users have spent a long time writing posts and then when they are done, and hit submit, they loose all their information.
We apologize for this inconvenience. The forum will log you out after a certain time period of inactivity, and even though you are writing a post, because you haven't accessed a new page, the session thinks that you are done, and for your security and the site's as well, logs you out.
The best advice we can give you when writing a long post is to do one of two things:
1) Write your post in another program, like notepad, wordpad, or an email, and when you are done, copy and paste it into the message box.
2) Write your message in the forum message box as usual. Before you hit "Submit" or "Submit New Thread" select all your text and copy it to the clipboard. Then, if you encounter a problem on submit, the contents of your post will still be saved, you can log back in, hit reply, and then paste the message you were working on.
On windows, some shortcuts would be:
ctrl+a - select all
ctrl+c - copy
ctrl+v - paste
or, right click and copy/paste.
Good luck! |
